 Semaglutide is an incretin mimetic that binds and activates the GLP-1 receptor. GLP-1 is an important gut-derived, glucose homeostasis regulator that is released after the oral ingestion of carbohydrates or fats. This GLP-1 suppresses Glc secretion, slows gastric emptying, reduces food intake, and promotes beta-cell proliferation. In short, you will feel full sooner so you will eat less. Some patients have noticed that they no longer have the desire for sweets and other empty calories.

 Tirzepatide  is a medication used to manage type 2 diabetes and is also being studied for weight loss and obesity management. It is marketed under the brand name Mounjaro by Eli Lilly. Tirzepatide is a type of GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist, meaning it targets both glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptors 

Zepbound is the obesity drug equivalent to Mounjaro. Mounjaro directly activates GIP and GLP-1 pathways to help regulate blood sugar. Mounjaro is not a weight loss medication; however, patients using Mounjaro have experienced significant weight loss.
